#what i love about breaking bad #is that they take a lot of characters who might typically show up as the random shady witness in a cop show #prostitutes and drug addicts and homeless people #the people who are usually on screen for a single minute and are basically used as props #before they’re shoved off screen so that the heroes can do their work #it takes those people and gives them names and histories and motivations #makes them kind or awful or misunderstood or understood perfectly #and puts them front and centre as important characters who exist in their own right #the sympathetic character in breaking bad isn’t the respectable high school teacher who’s got in over his head #it’s the rude-ass junkie who keeps on fucking up his own life #and there’s something very satisfying about that

He was just asking me honestly, “Is that all you got?” And for some reason, I thought to myself: “Yeah, man, I can do better.” So I started from scratch.

So I just started watching Breaking Bad, and halfway through the first episode I paused it to renew my faith in the TV industry because THIS is how you do television. I'm almost done with the first season, and it's gritty and sometimes uncomfortable but only because it's so real and I am just in complete awe at how fantastic it is. I can only hope the rest of the show is just as good. ◤

Oh my god, askdhlaskjdhkajsd, I am going to tell you right now that it’s just as good all the way through. It’s just… it’s so… 

I just… yeah. Breaking Bad is genuinely one of the single best television programs I’ve ever seen. It’s uncomfortable, awful, and frequently makes me cringe — but it utilizes the medium to the absolute best of its ability and the acting is so good it makes me shiver. 

I could barely get through the first three episodes because I was genuinely sitting there thinking oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck, this is literally the worst situation, this is making me so anxious I’m going to puke — truly, I believe, the sign of some amazing television. Anyone who is considering watching it: do so with someone to cuddle and a cup of tea and enjoy the ride, because it’s worth every second.
